World wide web

WWW (W3) refers to the World Wide Web or simply called the web. It is a system of interlinked hypertext documents consisting of formatted text, images, sound or other objects. Very often people mistook WWW as the internet itself but  WWW is only an application on the internet and computer network .WWW consists of public websites connected to the internet including client devices such as cell phones and computers.  World Wide Web was developed to be a resource for human knowledge. (Berners-Lee, 1991)

Timothy Berners-Lee developed WWW in a period between late 1980 and early 1990. When he returned to CERN in 1984 he recognized that the dispersed physicists around the world need a platform to share data. So he wrote a proposal for a large hypertext link but it generated a little interest. He called it names information mesh, the information mine (TIM), mine of information (MOI) but all were having some issues so were turned down. He finally named it as World Wide Web. Then he found his collaborator Robert Cailliau who rewrote the proposal and published it on 12 November 1990 but found no vendor and later it was adapted by some scientific departments of universities and physics laboratories.  In 1992 graphics and animation were added. In 1993 CERN agreed web protocol and code can be used by everyone for free. In 1996 WWW proved to be a big platform for e-commerce. And after that its use increased really fast and boomed the internet. (Berners-Lee, 1991)
WWW is so organized that most of the websites use WWW. WWW allows us to use the internet to the fullest. It has been a revolutionary idea in the history of the internet. It allows texts, images, graphics, sounds and other applications can also be added by using java etc . You can be navigated from one page to another page easily .The Web thus played an important role for making the internet popular. It has been like a door to the internet. (Mitchell)

World Wide Web has always been of great use for engineering students. A good engineer needs to gain quality knowledge and needs to be aware of the latest developments and research in his field, and the web proves to be an ultimate source. WWW serves to be an all time guide to him unlike his professors. He can scratch the web hard until he gets the desired information. Web has created a sort of competition among the engineers. Most of the time they try a new approach to the old or failed models and obviously they retrieve the information about them from the web .The Web has made an engineer worldwide. (Engineering, Jacobs School of , 2010)

Timothy Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau had never thought that the thing that they were making would be so popular and useful to mankind. WWW has made the internet usable;
it is just like a broadway towards an ocean of knowledge. It not only serves for study purposes but it also entertains you ,and  allows you to be in touch with others, thus socializing us. It is like a never ending resource or rather I would say it is a miracle.

Reflection one

In my ILSEC class I have learned many things from Mr.Hedley. He taught me how to use a website which is called blogger to post anything interesting or any project that we have. Also he helped me do my account to be a member in blogger and he told me about another website which is called easy bib. This website helps me with my references and/or to find any article that I’m looking for by just typing the date and the authors’ name and the magazine name and page number. Working with Mr.Hedley made me improve my writing skills by the projects I’ve done and my vocabulary got better by doing the quizzes.

In-depth research and elaboration on the uses of mobile phones

For centuries innovators have been searching for means to advance communications between people. This advancement started with the efforts to improve mobile telephone concepts using a two signaled radio and developed into the modern variety of what we call mobile phones today. During these days we find that the communication industry invests large sum to push limits of progression to accommodate for the needs that are available or demanded rather by the greater majority. While there is also the growing competition between the replacement of computers with mobiles phones packed with the same applications making it possible to use the same navigation's as a computer, there is also the change in the efficiency of how mobile phones are used.

The history of mobile phones first started with the use of radiophones exchanging communications during the Second World War, though hand-held mobile phones have been around since the early 1970s the concept of instant exchange communications was introduced than. This concept was quickly picked up for different uses at the same time of the war, for example military communications.

The efficiency of mobile phones improved as the popularity for the device grew, the dependability as well as the urgency of its everyday use grew hence why there was also a fast demand for other applications to be added to change its function. With faster speeds and more battery life the creation of modern phones have been designed to purposely keep up with the fast pace of those that use them. Mobile phones impact increased lately due to the usage for many reasons upon today’s life. People need mobile phones everywhere.

Professionals use mobile phones for many purposes because mobile phones today made it a lot easier for them to communicate, and make business communication and efficiency. This technology made it easier for people to finish up work easily without having to go to meetings and clear things.
In the professional sector mobile phones are as vital as workers themselves. They serve the purpose to keep busy people organized as well as have memos to help remind them of special events or meetings. With modern mobile phones you can send multimedia message, organize contacts into social and business groups in order to make it more sufficient in finding the right contacts. The introduction of video calling has also made business dealings more visual by that people are more likely to meet potential employers virtually before in meeting them in person (conference meetings), finalize oversea deals that they can't meet in person with for purposes of convenience and it has also improved the social aspect of workers that don't have the time to socialize, with the use of the internet people are now more communicative and have their networking sites on their finger tips. This technology improved its efficiency by many things such as, upgrading the device, having a colored screen, a video call, a conference call, and having your memo pad all in one mobile phone, so its more of a personal mini computer rather than a mobile phone.

This device will be used in future by many ways that will also improve a lot since it has reached to a very high quality of improvement. This device has its advantages and disadvantages. Some of the advantages are to make communication easier by a touch of a button. Some of the disadvantages are that people might not use these devices in the correct way. However, the future uses of mobile will make mobile phones be the only main device of used, by that people are more likely to purchase a mobile phone with applications such as cameras, video, real time television. At the moment mobile phones are a basic need for some, a luxury for others but there will come a time where mobile phones will be a necessity by all people regardless of class and money. People now have access to all kinds of brands given the options of mobile phone contracts or monthly pay. As technology advances the applications used in mobile phones, I reckon will overtake that of computers. People will less likely be purchasing different technological devices rather use their mobile phones as their only one and main use for different things, like a camera and a video camera.
The changes in mobile phone since its introduction has made evident that more is to come from this creative device, known as mobile phone.

Bugatti Veyron versus Porsche 911 turbo

Introductory.

Nowadays there are many new cars in the world that work with gas or petrol. There are also cars that work with electricity. Many people like to have a sport car that has a nice shape and speed. There are many sport cars. Some of them are good and others are bad. In this essay I am going to talk about the similarities and differences between the Bugatti and the Porsche 911 Turbo.

The similarities
There are only a few similarities between the Bugatti and the Porsche 911 Turbo. The first similarity is they are both sport cars. The Second similarity is that both of them are popular. Many people like to have these two cars because they are so beautiful and have a nice look.

The Differences.

There are many differences between the Bugatti and the Porsche 911 Turbo. We begin with the difference in prices. The Bugatti is more expensive than the Porsche 911 Turbo. It costs $1.6 million but the Porsche 991 Turbo costs between $137,360- 140,780 ( http://www.bugatti.com/).The Second thing is the difference in speed. The Bugatti is faster than the Porsche 911 Turbo by 61 mph only (http://www.porsche-design.com/). After that the speed from 0-60 mph and the horse power. The Bugatti is 1001 HP horse power but the Porsche is 480 Hp only and that means the Bugatti is better. There is also the torque. The Bugatti is 952 IB-FT, but the Porsche 911 Turbo is 457 pound feet only. Finally the weight. The Bugatti is 5000 lb but the Porsche 911 Turbo is from 3650-3750 lb (http://paultan.org/2006/07/05/2009-porsche-gt1.)

My Opinion

In my opinion I won’t buy any of these cars because I’m not a big fan of sport cars.
I’m not a 4 wheel driver and I never thought of getting into the world of driving sport cars.
Sport cars give me a headache and they are expensive.

FOUND after 23 years

This is a true story that took place in NewYork city that made people more careful with their children .The incident was about kidnapping a 19 days old girl Carlina ,while her parents took their infant daughter to what was then called Harlem Hospital to be treated for high fever ; the newborn disappeared from the pediatric ward .When Carlina grew up she began to have doubts about whether the woman she grew up with was her real mother , so she called the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC),and with their help soon confirmed her true origins through DNA testing.

The kidnapper is now facing a federal kidnapping charge -and the prospect of spending the rest of her life behind bars. But Carlina continued her life with her real parents and models for photography students and is raising her daughter .Which makes this reunion not quite the simple fairy tale many people imagine."Her story struck a chord with a lot of people ,"says Ernie Allen, president of NCMEC ,whose switchboard has been overwhelmed by new callers."Many of them are calls from people who question who they are  ,whether they're in the right place."But finding her way into a new family is going to present challenges for Carlina and her biological parents.
